Star South Dance Company Auditions

2026-2027

Auditions for the 2026-2027 team will be Wednesday May 20, 2026 at Studio 1.

Schedule:

Ages 5-7yrs 4:00-5:00pm

Ages 8-11yrs 4:30-6:00pm

Ages 12+ 5:30-7:00pm

What to wear at auditions:

  • Any leotard, fitted top, half top, leggings, shorts, etc that is ALL BLACK!

  • Hair must be in a clean high or low bun with no “flyaways” and secured with hairspray and bobby pins.

  • Bring all dance shoes

What to expect: 

Dancers will be auditioned on their technique, flexibility, and performance. They will learn a quick routine to perform at the end, and then be asked to present various different technical skills including turns, leaps, acro, and other skills.

  • Bring water

  • Be confident and bring a positive attitude

  • Be on time!!

The Star South Dance Company is divided into age and ability levels. 

Mini Company - Ages 5-8

Petite Company- Ages 6-9

Junior Company - Ages 9-11

Teen Company - Ages 11- 14

Senior Company - (Advanced teens)

Dancers will be contacted the following week if they made the team. The first requirement for the new team will be the Summer Intensive July 27-31, 2026 - this camp is MANDATORY! There will also be a very important parent meeting scheduled for all members to discuss the policies and the commitment of Dance Company and what is expected. This will be an informative meeting about the upcoming year and give parents the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. We will hold this meeting the on July 27th before the dancers begin classes.
